National nonprofit financial institution, grantmaker returns to Cleveland soon after 15-calendar year absence

A nationwide lending and grantmaking group that pulled out of Cleveland 15 years ago is returning to the area, with an eye on lowering gaps in prosperity, do the job and well-getting.

The Regional Initiatives Assistance Corp., much better identified as LISC, quietly started reestablishing its existence here past year by earning more than $1 million in loans and grants to smaller corporations, neighborhood teams and a senior-housing redevelopment downtown. Now the New York-centered nonprofit is environment up a nearby workplace with $3 million in aid from the Cleveland Basis.
